1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 package taco seasoning mix
12 taco shells
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup diced onions
1/2 cup salsa
Sour cream (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned and cooked through.
Add the taco seasoning mix and 1/2 cup water to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Place the taco shells on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 3-5 minutes until crisp.
Fill each taco shell with a spoonful of the beef or turkey mixture.
Top the meat with shredded lettuce, cheese, chopped tomatoes, diced onions, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole, as desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade tacos!
Note: You can also use other types of meat, such as chicken or shrimp, or make vegetarian tacos using beans or tofu as a protein source. Additionally, you can customize the toppings to your liking, adding or subtracting ingredients as you prefer.
