Spicy Chicken in Cream Sauce

Spicy Chicken in Cream Sauce

Scenario Description This is a luxurious and comforting Peruvian national dish. Shredded chicken is enveloped in a thick, silky sauce made from mild yellow chili peppers and nuts, traditionally served with rice, hard-boiled eggs, and black olives. Your Geedel food chopper effortlessly handles all the core sauce ingredients—from nuts and bread to chili peppers—to create an exceptionally smooth sauce base.

Ingredients:

500g chicken breast, cooked and shredded into fine strands

2 Aji Amarillo peppers, seeded and chopped (or use canned paste)

½ onion, 2 garlic cloves

¼ cup walnuts or Brazil nuts

2 slices white bread, crusts removed

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup chicken broth

½ cup evaporated milk or light cream

Salt and black pepper

To serve: White rice, hard-boiled eggs, black olives

Instructions:

1. Make the Smooth Nut & Chili Sauce:

Roughly chop the onion, garlic, Aji Amarillo peppers, and nuts. Fit the criss-cross chopping blade into your Geedel manual vegetable chopper.

Place all chopped ingredients into the container. Secure the lid and turn the handle continuously until the mixture is very finely minced.

Replace the chopping blade with the mixing paddle. Add the torn bread pieces, Parmesan cheese, chicken broth, evaporated milk, salt, and pepper.

Secure the lid and turn the handle steadily for 1-2 minutes until all ingredients are fully incorporated into a bright yellow, ultrasmooth sauce. Add more broth if the sauce is too thick.

2. Combine with Chicken:

Add the shredded chicken to a saucepan with the sauce. Heat over low heat, stirring gently, until the chicken is evenly coated and heated through.

3. To Serve:

Plate a portion of white rice. Spoon the chicken and sauce over the rice. Garnish with halved hard-boiled eggs and black olives.

Summary:

The unique flavor and texture of this iconic Peruvian dish rely entirely on the fineness and richness of its sauce. The powerful mincing and emulsifying capabilities of the Geedel chopper process multiple ingredients at once into a restaurant-quality, silky sauce, allowing home cooks to perfectly recreate this warm, exotic, and flavorful masterpiece.
