Christmas Snowflake Ham & Cheese Potato Pie

No Christmas feast is complete without a warm, hearty potato pie! Using the Geedel Vegetable Chopper to create a perfectly smooth mashed potato base, mixed with finely chopped ham and vegetables, and topped with a festive snowflake design, this pie bakes in 35 minutes. The result is a savory, cheesy delight with fluffy potatoes, flavorful ham, balanced by the tang of pickles – a classic main course on German Christmas tables!

Ingredients

5 potatoes (about 800g, peeled)

200g Christmas ham

1 small broccoli floret

100g shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 onion

50ml whipping cream

30g butter

2 eggs

1/2 tsp salt

A pinch of black pepper

1 snowflake-shaped mold

Instructions

1.  Make Smooth Mashed Potatoes: Cut potatoes into 2cm cubes using the potato dicer. Steam for 20 minutes until very soft. Add butter, whipping cream, and 1/4 tsp salt. Mash by hand until perfectly smooth.

2.  Sauté the Filling: Chop the ham into 1cm pieces using the food chopper. Finely dice the onion and cut the broccoli into small florets. Heat a little oil in a pan, sauté the onion until fragrant. Add ham and cook for 2 minutes, then add broccoli and cook until tender. Season with salt and pepper. Let cool.

3.  Assemble & Bake: In a baking dish, layer the ham and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle with 50g of cheese. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top. Use the snowflake mold to press designs into the potato layer. Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20 minutes until the top is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Watch your Christmas table come to life!
