German Beer & Onion Glazed Pork Chops

On a chilly winter night in Munich, the Geedel Vegetable Chopper helps you create a classic German pork chop dinner with ease. Slice onions effortlessly into uniform strips to simmer with dark beer into a rich glaze. Served with dark rye bread, this meal is hearty, deeply satisfying, and brings authentic German comfort to your table.

Ingredients (Serves 2)  

- 2 pork chops (about 250g)  

- 1 onion  

- 1 potato (peeled)  

- 50ml German dark beer  

- 1 tbsp olive oil  

- ¼ tsp salt  

- A pinch of black pepper  

- 20g fresh parsley  

Instructions  

1. Slice the Onions: Even & Aromatic  

Cut the onion into 3cm chunks and place them in the Geedel Vegetable Chopper. Rotate five times to create fine, uniform strands. These will be sautéed until soft, then simmered with beer into a rich glaze that forms the flavorful base for the pork chops. This method saves 10 minutes compared to hand-slicing and keeps your stovetop clean.

2. Dice the Potato: Quick & Consistent  

Cut the potato into 3cm chunks and place them in the Slap Chop container. Press the handle gently three times to create evenly sized pieces. Toss with salt and olive oil, then roast alongside the pork chops until crispy outside and tender inside—no need for pre-boiling.

3. Chop the Parsley: Fresh & Fragrant

Wash the parsley and cut into 5cm segments. Place them in the Food Chopper Manual Hand and rotate twice to create fine, vibrant green bits. Sprinkle over the finished dish for a fresh finish—finer than hand-chopped, with no tough fibers.

4. Roast the Pork Chops: Rich & Hearty  

Season the pork chops with salt and pepper and let marinate for 10 minutes. Pan-sear until golden on both sides. In the same pan, sauté the onion strips until soft, add the dark beer, and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.  

Spread the beer-onion mixture in a baking dish, place the pork chops and potato cubes on top, and roast in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes.  

Serve drizzled with pan juices and accompanied by dark rye bread for an authentic German experience.
