Pumpkin Ghost Cream Soup

This Halloween, serve a golden pumpkin soup topped with floating "little ghosts" — all made easy with the Geedel Vegetable Chopper, which dices pumpkin and onion in just 20 minutes, tear-free. Silky smooth and warmly comforting, this festive starter brings the whole family together around the table.

Ingredients  

300g pumpkin (peeled and deseeded)  

½ onion  

2 garlic cloves  

100ml heavy cream  

400ml chicken broth  

15g butter  

¼ tsp salt  

A pinch of black pepper  

1 tsp chopped parsley (for garnish)  

A pinch of bamboo charcoal powder (for ghost eyes)  

Instructions  

1. Dice the Pumpkin: Even & Quick Cooking  

Cut the pumpkin into 3cm-wide strips and place in the Geedel Vegetable Chopper using vegetable chopper mode (wide blade). Press once to get uniform 2cm cubes—evenly sized for soft, tender cooking in just 15 minutes (twice as fast as hand-cutting). Transfer the pumpkin and peeled garlic cloves to a clay pot.

2. Sauté Onion & Simmer: Rich Flavor Base  

Peel and slice the onion, then mince finely with one press using the Geedel fine blade (no tears, milder flavor). Melt butter in a pan and sauté the minced onion until fragrant. Add to the clay pot with chicken broth, bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.

3. Purée & Create Ghosts: Silky Texture & Fun Look  

Let the soup cool for 5 minutes. Using the Geedel food chopper mode, purée the soup directly in the pot—no extra bowls to wash. Stir in 50ml heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3 minutes until hot.  

Fill a piping bag with the remaining cream and pipe three small "cloud" shapes onto the soup. Use a toothpick dipped in bamboo charcoal powder to add eyes, creating "ghosts." Garnish with parsley—golden soup, white ghosts, and green herbs make a warm, inviting dish.
