American Berry Pancakes with Quick Homemade Jam
Fluffy pancakes drizzled with warm homemade berry jam create a classic American breakfast scene. Your Geedel hand vegetable chopper effortlessly mixes lump-free pancake batter and quickly chops frozen berries into a perfect, smooth jam—making the entire breakfast process smooth, fast, and far more flavorful than using syrup alone.
Ingredients:
For the Pancakes:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
1 egg
¾ cup milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
For the Quick Berry Jam:
1 cup mixed frozen berries (no need to thaw)
2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
For Serving:
Butter, powdered sugar
Instructions:
1. Make smooth pancake batter:
Install the mixing paddle in your Geedel manual food chopper. First, add the milk, egg, and melted butter to the container. Turn the handle for a few seconds until well combined.
Add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Close the lid again and pulse the handle briefly at low speed until the wet and dry ingredients are just combined—the batter may still have a few small lumps. Do not overmix.
2. Make quick berry jam:
Empty the container (no need to wash it) and switch to the chopping blade. Add the frozen berries, close the lid, and pulse a few times to coarsely chop the larger berries.
Switch back to the mixing paddle. Add maple syrup and lemon juice, then pulse a few times to combine. Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and heat over medium-low for 3–5 minutes, stirring until slightly thickened into a jam-like consistency.

3. Cook the pancakes:
Melt a little butter in a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Pour in portions of batter. When bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, flip and cook until golden brown on both sides.
4. Serve:
Stack the pancakes on a plate, drizzle with the warm homemade berry jam, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with extra butter if desired.
Summary:
This perfect breakfast proves how much simple tools can achieve. The Geedel manual vegetable chopper uses its low-speed pulsing action to perfectly mix sensitive pancake batter without overworking it—which keeps the pancakes tender—while also quickly processing frozen fruit into a fresh, flavorful jam. It turns an ordinary morning meal into something special with minimal effort.
