American Apple Cinnamon Crumb Cake

Ingredients

150g all-purpose flour

2 crisp, sweet apples (peeled and cored)

80g cold butter (divided)

50g brown sugar

30g white sugar (divided)

½ tsp cinnamon powder (divided)

A small pinch of salt

20g crushed almonds (for garnish)

1 drop vanilla extract (optional, for enhanced aroma)

Instructions

1. Prep the Apples: Crisp & No Browning!

Slice the apples into 5mm thick half-moons using the fruit slicer for baked treats. In a bowl, toss the apple slices with 20g of the white sugar, ¼ tsp of the cinnamon powder, and the vanilla extract (if using). Let it marinate for 10 minutes — this allows the apples to absorb the sweetness and release their juicy burst during baking!

2. Make the "Crumb Topping": The Key to Crispy, Crumbly Goodness!

In a large bowl, mix 100g of the flour, 30g of the brown sugar, the remaining ¼ tsp of cinnamon powder, and the salt. Add 40g of the cold butter, cut into small cubes.
