Mexican Tortilla Soup

On a crisp autumn evening, let the Geedel Vegetable Chopper help you turn fresh tomatoes, corn, and chicken into a comforting tortilla soup in minutes. From dicing juicy tomatoes to cutting corn kernels neatly without mess, it gets ingredients soup-ready faster—so your family can gather sooner over something warm and wholesome.

Ingredients (Serves 3)  

2 tomatoes (peeled and deseeded)  

1 ear of sweet corn (kernels removed)  

80g chicken breast (thinly sliced)  

1/4 onion  

2 corn tortillas (cut into small pieces)  

2 cloves garlic (minced)  

A small handful of cilantro (chopped)  

A pinch of salt  

1/4 tsp chili powder  

1 tsp olive oil  

500ml water  

Instructions  

1. Dice the Tomatoes: Use the Tomato Dicer to Retain Juiciness  

After peeling and deseeding the tomatoes, cut them into 3cm chunks. Place them in the manual chopper's container, attach the tomato dicer blade (designed for soft fruits—dices without crushing or losing juices), and rotate the handle 3 times. The tomatoes turn into evenly sized small dices, full of juice. Compared to chopping with a knife, this method ensures more uniform pieces, allowing the tomatoes to release their flavor faster during cooking and giving the soup a brighter color. Your mom peeks over and says with a smile, "These tomato dices are so even—the soup is sure to be delicious!"  

2. Prepare the Onion: Use the Onion Chopper to Avoid Irritation

Cut the onion into 2cm chunks, switch to the onion chopper blade in the machine, and rotate 3 times to get finely and evenly diced onions—without any of the pungent fumes reaching your eyes. Sauté the diced onions and minced garlic in hot oil until fragrant, filling the kitchen with an inviting aroma that forms the flavor base of the soup. Combine the chopped corn, tomato dices, and water in a pot. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 10 minutes.  

4. Simmer the Soup & Add Toppings: A Warm Family Dinner  

Add the sliced chicken breast to the pot and cook for 5 minutes until fully done. Season with salt and chili powder. Finally, add the corn tortilla pieces and simmer for 2 minutes, allowing them to soak up the flavorful broth. Serve the soup garnished with chopped cilantro.
