Pumpkin Purple Sweet Potato Basque Cheesecake

A vibrant orange-purple Halloween tea table comes to life with the Geedel Vegetable Chopper, making smooth pumpkin and sweet potato purée in 15 minutes—no mashing needed. A Basque cheesecake with spiderweb and bat designs oozes a creamy center with pumpkin aroma, perfect with black tea. An instant party standout.

Ingredients  

Pumpkin Basque Layer  

250g cream cheese  

30g fine sugar  

2 eggs  

135g heavy cream  

6g cornstarch  

200g Kabocha squash (steamed and mashed)  

Purple Sweet Potato Topping

180g purple sweet potato  

180g milk  

120g heavy cream  

20g fine sugar  

8g gelatin sheets  

Decorations  

50g dark chocolate  

10g Halloween-colored sugar pearls  

2 piping bags  

Instructions  

1. Make Pumpkin Purée: Smooth & Lump-Free  

Peel, deseed, and cube the Kabocha squash. Steam until tender, then place in the Geedel Vegetable Chopper using food chopper mode (fine blade). With the non-slip base secured, press down three times—the squash turns into a silky, lump-free purée (more compact than a blender, and ready to use straight from the container). Reserve 150g for the recipe; store the rest in the fridge.  

2. Mix Batter & Bake: Key to Texture  

Beat softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Add eggs, cornstarch, and heavy cream one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Fold in the pumpkin purée until the batter is smooth. Line a cake pan with parchment paper, pour in the batter, and bake at 220°C for 19 minutes. Let cool, then refrigerate for 4 hours.  

3. Prepare Purple Sweet Potato Cream: Gradient Beauty

Steam the purple sweet potato until soft, then purée using the same Geedel method. Mix with milk and strain for extra smoothness. Whip the heavy cream with sugar until soft peaks form, then fold in the purple sweet potato purée and dissolved gelatin. Spread over the chilled pumpkin Basque layer and refrigerate for another 2 hours to set.  

4. Halloween Decor: Effortless & Fun  

Melt dark chocolate and transfer to a piping bag. Pipe a spiderweb pattern over the cake surface. Use a toothpick to attach sugar pearls as "dewdrops" and place chocolate bat decorations. The orange flowy center, purple sweet potato layer, and dark chocolate web create a festive Halloween masterpiece.
