Filipino Chicken Adobo
Adobo is the national dish of the Philippines, known for its signature balance of soy sauce, vinegar, plenty of garlic, and black pepper. Using your Geedel manual vegetable chopper, you can instantly prepare the flavor foundation—uniform minced garlic and coarsely crushed black peppercorns—and easily blend the marinade, allowing the chicken to fully absorb this rich, tangy goodness.
Ingredients:
1 kg chicken legs or wings
1 whole head of garlic (about 10–12 cloves)
1 tablespoon whole black peppercorns
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
½ cup water
3 bay leaves
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
1.Prepare the flavor base:
Peel the garlic cloves. Install the chopping blade in your Geedel food chopper. First, add the black peppercorns and quickly pulse a few times to coarsely crush them. Add all the garlic cloves and turn the handle continuously until the garlic is minced into uniform fine pieces.

2. Mix the marinade:
Remove the chopping blade and switch to the mixing paddle. Place the soy sauce, vinegar, and water into the container. Close the lid tightly and turn the handle for a few seconds to combine well.
3. Marinate and simmer:
In a large bowl or resealable bag, combine the chicken, the garlic-pepper mixture from step 1, the liquid marinade from step 2, and the bay leaves. Marinate for at least 30 minutes. Transfer the chicken and all the marinade to a pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30–40 minutes until the chicken is tender.
4. Reduce and glaze:
Remove the chicken from the pot. Increase the heat and reduce the sauce until thick and glossy. Return the chicken to the pot and toss to coat evenly in the rich sauce.
Summary:
This ultimate rice companion proves the incredible potential of simple ingredients. The Geedel vegetable chopper efficiently handles the soul of the dish—large amounts of garlic and pepper—while its mixing function ensures the liquid marinade is evenly blended, allowing home cooks to easily recreate this uniquely flavorful Southeast Asian classic.
