Apple Cranberry Crumble Bars
Fall and winter are apple season—and this portable, shareable treat is perfect for the season! My Geedel Vegetable Chopper whips up heaps of uniform apple shreds in minutes, keeping the filling moist and evenly mixed.
Ingredients
Base & Crumble:
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour (200g)
- 1½ cups rolled oats (150g)
- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar (150g)
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted (180g)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Filling:
- 4 medium apples (about 1.2kg), peeled and cored
- ⅔ cup dried cranberries (100g)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions
Prep the Filling:
1. Cut peeled, cored apples into chunks. Attach the shredding blade to your Geedel Vegetable Chopper.
2. Add apple chunks to the chopper, then glide the palm smoothly and firmly back and forth—boom! Uniform apple shreds in seconds.

3. Toss shreds with lemon juice immediately to prevent browning. Gently squeeze out excess moisture (but leave some for a juicy filling).
Assemble & Bake:
1.Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch (20x20cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
2.In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbly.
3.Press half the crumble mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan (this is your base!).
4.In another bowl, combine apple shreds, dried cranberries, and 2 tbsp flour. Spread evenly over the base.
5.Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture on top of the filling. 6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. 7. Let cool completely in the pan, then slice into bars.
