South African Samosas
Why haven't you tried this?
Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a rich, slightly spicy curry filling! Use the Geedel food chopper to mince chicken and vegetables, mix the filling in 8 minutes. Just use store-bought spring roll wrappers—fry or bake for authentic South African street food flavor!
Ingredients
- Main: 200g chicken breast, 12 spring roll wrappers, 1 potato, 1 carrot, 50g green peas
- Curry Filling Seasonings: 1/2 onion, 2 garlic cloves, 2 tsp curry powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tbsp cooking oil, 50ml water
Detailed Instructions
1.Efficient filling prep with Geedel
Cut chicken breast into small chunks, place in the Geedel vegetable chopper, and press gently to mince. Peel potato and carrot, cut into chunks. Add them to the chopper with onion and garlic (fine chop setting), then press to make fine dice. Filling prep is done in just 8 minutes!

2.Sauté the curry filling
Heat cooking oil in a pan. Sauté onion and garlic mince until fragrant, add minced chicken and stir-fry until opaque. Add curry powder and turmeric powder, stir for 1 minute. Mix in potato dice, carrot dice, and water. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes until vegetables are tender. Add green peas and salt, cook until the filling thickens (let excess moisture evaporate).

3.Wrap & cook
Lay spring roll wrappers flat. Place 1 spoonful of filling on each wrapper, brush the edges with water, fold into triangles, and press firmly to seal. Fry in oil heated to 170℃ (medium heat) for 3 minutes until golden brown, or bake at 180℃ for 15 minutes in the oven.
Blogger's Tip
Baking is healthier than frying—brush the samosas with oil before baking for extra crispiness.
