American Country-Style BBQ Ribs

The star of your weekend backyard barbecue! With the Geedel vegetable chopper to mince garlic and onion for the marinade and dice bell peppers for freshness, these ribs roast to a caramelized, finger-licking perfection—tender, smoky, and falling off the bone. Served with warm corn tortillas, it’s a true taste of American country comfort that will leave the whole family satisfied!

Ingredients  

- 500g pork ribs (soaked in water to remove blood)  

- 4 garlic cloves  

- ½ onion  

- 1 bell pepper (red or yellow)  

- 100ml BBQ sauce (divided)  

- 20g honey  

- ½ tsp smoked paprika  

- ¼ tsp salt  

- A pinch of black pepper  

- 5g fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)  

- 3 corn tortillas (warmed before serving)  

Instructions

1. Prepare the Marinade  

Peel the garlic and cut the onion into chunks. Place both in the food chopper and press into fine pieces right in its container.  

Add 50ml BBQ sauce, honey, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix into a fragrant, well-combined marinade.

2. Dice the Bell Pepper  

Deseed the bell pepper and cut into strips. Place in the vegetable chopper with dicing blade and press gently—you’ll get even, neat dice in seconds.  

Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel, then coat thoroughly with the marinade. Add the bell pepper dice and let everything marinate together for 30 minutes for deep flavor.

3. Roast & Serve

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with foil and arrange the ribs and diced peppers on top. Brush with 20ml BBQ sauce, wrap tightly with foil, and roast for 30 minutes.  

Unwrap, brush with the remaining 30ml BBQ sauce, increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F), and roast uncovered for another 15 minutes, until the ribs are caramelized on the outside and tender inside (easily pierced with a chopstick).  

Garnish with parsley and serve with warm corn tortillas. Let everyone wrap tender rib meat and sweet roasted peppers in a tortilla—each bite is smoky, garlicky, sweet, and utterly irresistible!
