Christmas Tree Broccoli & Cheese Tart

Want to serve a show-stopping main dish at your Christmas gathering? With the Geedel vegetable chopper for quick and easy prep, you can bake this vibrant green Christmas tree tart in just 30 minutes. Stretchy, melted cheese combines with the freshness of vegetables—a perfect photo op that’ll rack up the likes as soon as you post it!

Ingredients

1 sheet of ready-made tart/pastry crust  

200g broccoli  

1 carrot  

¼ onion  

100g mozzarella cheese, shredded  

80ml heavy cream  

2 eggs  

¼ tsp salt  

A pinch of black pepper  

Instructions

1. Prepare the Broccoli

Cut the broccoli into small florets and place them in the vegetable chopper. Using the coarse chopping blade, press lightly twice to create evenly sized small pieces (this saves 5 minutes compared to hand-chopping, preserves the crisp-tender texture, and avoids nutrient loss from over-processing).  

Bring a pot of water to a boil, add a pinch of salt, and blanch the broccoli pieces for 30 seconds. Drain and immediately transfer to ice water to lock in the vibrant green color. Drain well again.

2. Prep the Remaining Vegetables

Peel the onion and use the onion chopper to dice it finely in just seconds—uniform pieces with minimal eye irritation, no more tears!  

Peel the carrot and use the vegetable cutter with the shredding blade to create fine strands. Then switch to the dicing blade to chop the strands into small pieces.  

Combine the diced onion and carrot—they’ll cook evenly and release their flavors together when sautéed.

3. Mix the Filling & Bake

In a bowl, whisk the eggs with heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Add the blanched broccoli, diced vegetable mix, and 50g of the shredded mozzarella. Gently stir for about 10 seconds on low speed (avoid overmixing to prevent the vegetables from releasing water, ensuring a thick, consistent filling).  

Line a tart pan with the pastry crust and pour in the filling. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella evenly over the top.  

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.  

Once out of the oven, use a few carrot strips to form a “tree trunk” at the base—festive, edible, and totally Instagram-ready!
