German Beer Braised Beef
Craving a warming German-style dinner in autumn and winter? Use the Geedel vegetable chopper to cut beef brisket into chunks and chop root vegetables—just manual pressing for evenly sized ingredients, no electricity needed. Chopping tough meat is effortless, and after 60 minutes of braising, you'll get tender, flavorful beef infused with rich beer aroma. Serve with mashed potatoes for ultimate satisfaction!
Ingredients
500g beef brisket (cut into 2cm chunks)
330ml beer (German dark beer preferred)
2 carrots (peeled)
2 potatoes (peeled)
1 onion, 4 garlic cloves
1 can (400g) canned tomatoes
200ml beef stock
20g butter
1 teaspoon salt
a pinch of black pepper
1 small sprig of thyme
3g parsley flakes (for garnish)
Instructions
1.Chop the ingredients: Cut the beef brisket into large pieces, place in the food chopper (coarse chop setting), and press lightly to trim edges—more uniform than knife-cut, so it won't fall apart while braising. Cut carrots and potatoes into strips, switch the chopper to the dicing attachment, and press to form chunks. Uniformly chopped root vegetables will soften evenly during braising. Cut the onion into chunks, peel the garlic, place both in the chopper (fine chop setting), and press twice to make fine mince. The onion is sweet, the garlic is fragrant, and the chopper's non-stick blade won't stick to meat.

2.Sauté and braise: Melt butter in a cast iron pot over medium heat. Sear the beef brisket until golden brown on the surface—Geedel's evenly cut chunks ensure uniform heating. Remove and set aside. In the same pot, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant, add the carrot and potato chunks, and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Pour in crushed canned tomatoes, beef stock, beer, and thyme. Bring to a boil over high heat, add the seared beef, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 50 minutes until the beef is tender and the sauce thickens.

3. Season and serve: Add 1 teaspoon salt and black pepper to taste. Serve sprinkled with parsley flakes, paired with mashed potatoes or whole-grain bread. The beef is soaked in beer aroma, warming you from the inside out with every bite.
